Who operates the service

The Ghana Story is operated by Esi Worldwide Media. For privacy questions or requests, contact us through the Esi Threads profile.

Information we collect

You can play, read and listen without signing in. Depending on your choices, we may process:

• Anonymous pageview and visitor measurements, including referrer, country, device and browser totals.
• Anonymous campaign attribution from campaign tags on landing links, such as source, medium, campaign, content and the first-party landing path. This is recorded once per consented tab session to avoid duplicate visit counts.
• On-site learning and listening events, such as a chapter opening or landmark audio starting. These events are bounded and do not contain question text, answer text or email addresses.
• Sponsor delivery events, including viewable impressions, audio starts, audio completions, clicks and continuation. These are associated with a campaign and a short-lived random delivery token, not a named person.
• Information you choose to provide when saving a result or using optional social sign-in, such as a public handle or account profile data.

Cookies and similar technologies

Essential functionality can work without optional cookies. If you consent, first-party preferences may help us remember your analytics and advertising measurement choices. Optional measurement is off until you actively choose it. See the Cookies notice for the current inventory.

How we use information

• To provide the quiz, stories, narration and requested account features.
• To understand which pages and learning experiences are useful.
• To protect the service from abuse and investigate failures.
• To report sponsor campaign delivery in aggregate.

We do not use GPS, read contacts, access social messages, or sell visitor data. We do not use cross-site advertising profiles or device fingerprinting.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the application and provides optional Web Analytics. Neon hosts the application database. OpenAI may be used by the owner to create cached narration or sponsor audio. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices.

Choices and rights

You can reject or withdraw optional analytics and advertising measurement from the Privacy choices control. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing. Contact Esi Worldwide Media through the Threads profile and include enough detail for us to understand your request.

Children and changes

The Ghana Story is not designed to request personal information from children. We may update this notice when the service or its data practices change, and will update the date above.
